how do i get to tiger blue?

Check out our Travelling to board Tiger Blue section further down this page. Airport departure taxes sometimes need to be paid in cash (varies between $1 and $20).

do i need a visa and how do i get one?

Tourists from many countries do not require a visa to enter Indonesia for a short visit of up to 30 days.  Check with your local embassy before departure (this link may be useful).

what vaccinations do I need?

For vaccination advice, please consult MASTA.  Malaria is present in Indonesia. Please seek advice from your doctor.  Larium is unsuitable for divers.

what are your payment terms?

A 25% deposit will be required to secure your sailing with the final balance made 60 days before departure. Payment to be made via bank transfer to a UK bank account, in GBP, USD or EUR.

if I cancel what are the conditions?

• Full refund from cancellation within 120-91 days of departure
• 50% refund from cancellation within 90-61days days of departure
• 10% refund from 60-31 days of departure.
• No refund from cancellation within 30days of departure date

i want to dive and do watersports on this trip, do i need my own insurance?

It is required that guests take out adequate insurance for watersports, scuba diving and normal risks associated with travel. Dives are made at the divers’ own risk and proof of dive certificate will be required.

are there any safety requirements i should be aware of?

Upon arrival, there is a safety briefing to acquaint everyone with the boat.  She is equipped with GPS, SSB / VHF, radar, a depth sounder, a smoke / fire alarm, 2 life-rafts, lifejackets, life-ring buoys, a first aid kit and oxygen.

is there electricity on board?

The on-board generator runs 24 hours a day. Sockets are two-pin, 220 volts (round pins). As well as sockets in the cabins, there is a charging station upstairs for cameras, to avoid condensation from the air-conditioning.

Do i need to tip the crew?

Crew tips are welcome but not obligatory. If you wish to show your appreciation a tip of up to 10% of the charter/cabin rate is suggested.

is there an onboard soundsystem we can listen to?

The sound system onboard works with a standard headphones jack, so all you need to bring is your smartphone, laptop or iPod.

are there toiletries on board?

Our complimentary toiletries are phosphate-free and water based, to have minimal impact on the environment : soap, conditioning shampoo and shower gel, cucumber and aloe vera lotion. Our coconut-based suncream is factor 50.

are there Laundry services?

There is a washer / dryer on board.  Laundry service is complimentary.

Will I be able to get mobile phone signal?

There is an intermittent cellular service throughout the Komodo National Park as well as close to Sorong and Ambon.  Elsewhere it is weak or non-existent. Whilst on board, we provide a satellite telephone for your personal use, which is charged at $2 per minute – it is only switched on to make outgoing calls or receive pre-arranged incoming calls. +87 (0)776 712 535

Is there any internet available onboard?

When in range, the signal in the Komodo National Park is 3G. In Raja Ampat, the signal around Sorong and Waisai should be strong enough to support 3G.  For those wishing to purchase a local SIM card rather than using roaming, we recommend Telekom.

What do you use for transportation to and from the boat?

can you recommend what i should bring with me?
  • Sun screen with a high sun protection factor for body and lips

  • Sun hat

  • Sun glasses (polarised recommended)

  • Camera

  • Diving licence (if you have one) and own mask if preferred

  • Log book (if you have one)

  • Flip flops

  • Trainers (sneakers) for trekking

  • Long sleeve shirt

  • Passport

Travelling to board Tiger Blue

There are a number of options available to you for getting to your departure point, which is dependent upon your itinerary. In all instances Tiger Blue moors as close as possible to each airport. Transfer to the boat is then by private car and RIB tender. We are happy to assist with local flights. Here are our suggestions for travel to Tiger Blue:

For Komodo

Option 1: Via Bali

International flight to Bali.
Local flight to Labuan Bajo.
Local flight time: 1 hour 15 minutes.
